An AIA-ArtGroup Collective Art Exhibition
Six Members of the Andalusia International Artists Group show new images at Jinete in a collective art exhibition for your pleasure.

Each artist displays six images in watercolour, oil, acrylic and cross stitch.

The husband and wife team – AIA-Group artists, painter Roger and textile artist Dolores Cummiskey jointly exhibit a selection of their works in the Galeria Lucia, Calle Maestra Ángeles Aspiazú, Fuengirola (by the 3 horse roundabout).
The exhibition runs from the 1st March to the 26th April daily between 12-4 and 7-11 pm, except Sundays when it is closed.
Gerrie Gran, the gallery owner said “I am delighted to welcome back both Roger and Dolores and I am looking forward to seeing their new work”
Roger’s paintings are themed on the writings and wanderings of the author James Joyce and consist quotations and poems reflecting his words in watercolour. Dolores will exhibit some of her extraordinary cross stitching based on Spanish and international themes.

Co-operation Ireland
January 26th, 2011The Gala Legal Dinner in the Dorchester Hotel, London next April will offer one of my paintings to help raise funds for this worthy cause – Co-operation Ireland.

Co-operation Ireland is the leading peace-building charity on the island of Ireland. Our mission is to ‘advance mutual understanding and respect by promoting practical co-operation between the people of Northern Ireland and of the Republic of Ireland‘. Our programmes involve linking groups in the following areas and sectors:
- Schools and universities
- Youth and community groups
- Local authorities
- Media
- Local and central government
- Businesses and business networking/training organisations
Since it was established in 1979, Co-operation Ireland has created opportunities for groups from the two main religious communities in Northern Ireland and from both sides of the border to come together so they can learn about each other’s traditions and cultural backgrounds in order to help build a society which is based on tolerance and acceptance of cultural difference. Co-operation Ireland is experienced in

Poems of James Joyce
Shakespeare and Co., Paris, published Pomes Penyeach, by James Joyce, in 1927.
An American, Sylvia Beach, who was a patron of Joyce, owned this publishing business and bookshop in Paris. She was the first publisher of Ulysses in 1922.
Joyce also published 36 short poems entitled Chamber Music.
I have painted a series of James Joyce’s Poems in watercolours using waterproof ink on hand made Indian paper. Each painting is given its attributable date of the poems composition.
