AUCTION CLOSES

at 11:59 Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5)
on Sunday, June 19th 2011

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in the Japan Art Fund.

To the artists from around the world who donated artwork, thank-you for your time, energy, compassion and expressive work.  We truly appreciate your support and generosity in this international humanitarian effort.  Gallery & Studio Magazine has published a list of artists who contributed work to this project in their current edition thanks to the generosity and good hearts of Ed & Jeannie McCormack.

To everyone who has taken the time to become involved in the bidding process we thank you for your interest and contributions.  On a personal note here we would also like to commend you on your savvy art sense, because this truly has been a rare opportunity to acquire exceptional international artwork at amazing prices.

The funds generated from this auction will impact the people and animals of Japan through the auspices of the Red Cross Japan, Animal Refuge Kansai and the Niigata Back-up Center in Japan organized by photographer Junichi Takahashi.  We believe that even if we are able to provide for the needs of just one person or one pet, the repercussions from that effort will be felt for a lifetime of not only that one person but their family for generations to come.

In closing we would like to remind everyone that there is still time to place bids for the artwork.  The works are available as a silent auction which closes on Sunday, June 19th 2011 at 11:59 EST (Eastern Standard Time).  Please note that towards the end, it will become a blind auction as bids will probably come in faster than we will be able to update the site.

Please help us make one last push to promote this worthwhile cause by passing this along to your mailing list of friends, family and associates.

I have sent an original image for silent auction at Monkdoz, NYC to send money to a couple of charities to help those people of Japan worst affected following the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant disasters earlier this year.

If you would like to help please let me know. Or make a donation.

Japan Art Fund

Three months have passed since the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan. Tens of thousands of people are still living in make-shift refugee centers and on a daily basis face the devastation.
In order to help them 77 artists from around the world have donated over 100 pieces of artwork to the Japan Art Fund.  There are a wide selection of drawings, photographs, paintings, mixed media work and prints all around 8 x 11 inches (20 cm x 28 cm) in size.  The artists who are participating in this project are listed on the supporters’ page.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain some exceptional works of art at affordable prices and to contribute to a humanitarian effort at the same time.
100% of all proceeds from the winning bids will be donated by the winners directly to their choice of Red Cross Japan, Animal Refuge Kansai and the Niigata Back-up Center in Japan organized by photographer Junichi Takahashi.
This is a silent auction held on-line.  The auction has already started and will end at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Sunday, June 19th 2011.
To bid for artwork please register first in the ”Auction” section.
